Colorado Horse property – some of the best riding in the world!
If you are at all like me you grew up watching Westerns – the old T.V. shows that depicted riding horses as the main method of transportation. Not just the bad guys robbing banks or stagecoaches and jumping on their horse to gallop into the sunset, but also all the glorious rides thru rivers and valleys, deserts and mountains. I knew at an early age – like many little girls dream of- I WANTED A HORSE. (Now did I get one? NO. I got plenty of swimming and tennis lessons, but no trusty steed as a child.) Not until I was in my mid 20’s did I launch into the world of horse ownership. Luckily I had already purchased land I knew was zoned for horses. Now into my 60s, the horse obsession is still going strong!
Colorado has to be one of the most gorgeous places in the U.S. for the ultimate options in horse property. There are horse communities everywhere you turn. If you want to live near Metro Denver the choices are endless. You can go North, South, East and West in Colorado and find magnificent horse properties with a variety of scenery and terrain. So if you end up in Colorado and horses are on your must-have list, you are in the right place. There are innumerable horse amenities throughout the state.
Let me just focus on the areas I know the best, which would be the southern part of the Denver Metro area. You can find incredible horse property in Parker, Franktown, Elizabeth, Castle Rock, and Larkspur for starters. Parker boasts one of the best Equestrian Facilities in the West at The Colorado Horse Park. I personally have watched Olympic riders from all over the world come to compete here before their official Olympic events. They have a full schedule of events and it is a world class facility. Parker is also home to Salisbury Park a riding facility named after our former mayor, Dean Salisbury, who was a Morgan Horse Lover. Parker hosts both Parker Days and a Christmas Carriage Parade where horses are decked out for the festivities. Years ago before all the growth in Parker I drove horse drawn carriages in both events. So the possibilities are endless if you are wanting to buy Colorado Horse Property. Please contact me with any questions and what it is you are looking for and we can go from there. Until then,
Happy Trails to you
